This unique trophy, consisting of a cracked piston rampant on a bent connecting rod, is one of the more unique trophies that the Victoria MG Club awards annually to deserving members who were struck by mechanical disasters and the vagaries of the Prince of Darkness or his minions.
We have had fan blades come adrift, water pumps and fans encounter radiators, Midget expiry in Southern Oregon and a clutch pedal disintegrating on the Cochahalla Highway.
These incidents have been salvaged by Honda radiators, hair dryers, bungee cord, iron plumbing and native ingenuity.
Club owners are surely proud to display this unique trophy on their mantels as evidence that they overcame the British curse and somehow got back home.
